ELPIDA Ministries was born from a longing — to see the bold, uncompromising truths of God's Word echo across Ethiopia and beyond. From a small studio in Hawassa, we produce expository teachings, podcasts, and training resources that recover the gospel of grace alone.

Rooted in the Five Solas of the Reformation, we exist to make Christ known — through every microphone, every camera, and every page.

Our Story

Born to Broadcast Bold Truth

ELPIDA — from the Greek word for hope — was founded in 2017 in Piyassa, Hawassa, with one conviction: Ethiopia needs the unwavering, expository proclamation of the Word of God in every medium available.

What began as a small podcast has grown into a full media ministry — producing teachings, devotionals, training courses, and a digital library that reaches believers in over 50 cities across Ethiopia and beyond.

We are committed to the Five Solas of the Reformation and accountable to trusted ministry elders who shepherd this work with prayerful care.

Sola Scriptura

Scripture Alone

The Bible: Our Only Infallible Authority

Scripture alone is the supreme, sufficient, and final authority for all faith and practice. Every tradition, council, and human teacher must bow before the plain meaning of God's written Word.

This conviction shapes every ELPIDA broadcast — we refuse to soften, twist, or supplement the text. The Word stands; we kneel.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."2 Timothy 3:16

Sola Fide

Faith Alone

Justified by Faith, Not by Works

A sinner is declared righteous before God on the basis of Christ's finished work alone, received through faith alone — apart from works, sacraments, or human merit.

This is the article on which the church stands or falls. We will not blur it, dilute it, or compromise it.

Sola Gratia

Grace Alone

Salvation — Entirely God's Sovereign Gift

Salvation is the unmerited gift of God to spiritually dead sinners who could never earn or initiate it. From election to glorification, every step is grace.

We embrace the historic doctrines of grace (TULIP) and proclaim them with joy, because they exalt God and humble man.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."Ephesians 2:8–9

Christ Alone

One Savior, One Mediator, One Way

Salvation is found in Christ alone — His person, His work, His mediation. No saint, sacrament, or system can add to or share in His sufficiency.

ELPIDA is unapologetically Christ-centered: every teaching points to Him, every podcast exalts Him, every resource serves His glory.

"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all."1 Timothy 2:5–6

Soli Deo Gloria

To God Alone Be the Glory

Every Broadcast Is an Act of Worship

All glory in salvation belongs to God alone — not to man, not to method, not to ministry. He saves; we sing.

Every microphone, camera, page, and pixel ELPIDA produces is offered upward as worship to the only One who is worthy.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."1 Corinthians 10:31

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God — our sole rule for faith and life.

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three coequal Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness, love, and sovereignty.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, crucified for sinners, bodily raised, ascended, and reigning as Lord.

John 1:1, 14; Phil. 2:5–11

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — apart from any human merit or work.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers every believer for holy living and gospel witness.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ — gathered local assemblies of baptized believers, devoted to Word, sacrament, and mission.

Eternal Life & Judgment

We believe in the resurrection of the dead — believers to everlasting life with Christ, and unbelievers to conscious eternal judgment.

Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to consummate His kingdom.
